Renown comes with Gretsch’s player-friendly “302” hoop – the same hoop used on Gretsch’s Brooklyn and Broadkaster series drums. Gretsch 302 hoops produce the desirable focused sound like that of a die cast hoop, but are lighter in weight and less rigid, allowing the drum to better “breath” and achieve maximum resonance. Renown delivers the traditional Gretsch sound with an incredible open, harmonic tone that supplies the versatility needed to meet the demands of the hardest working drummers.

Brooklyn, New York and Gretsch Drums share an inseparable legacy that is reflected in the Gretsch Brooklyn Series. Proudly hand-crafted in Gretsch’s Ridgeland, SC, USA factory, Gretsch Brooklyn produces a sound that is immediately recognizable, yet distinctively reinvented. Brooklyn drums feature 6-ply North American maple/poplar shells and are made slightly thicker than Gretsch’s USA Custom Drums and have a 30-degree bearing edge. Shell interiors are finished with classic Gretsch Silver Sealer. Each shell comes with a distinctive Brooklyn internal shell label that identifies the drum shell model number and serial number.

Brooklyn toms and snares feature the distinctive Gretsch “302” hoop. Its 3mm thick and double-flanged and is reminiscent of hoops used by Gretsch until the mid 1950’s. Brooklyn delivers classic Gretsch tones that are full, punchy and warm. Brooklyn’s innovative specifications created a new Gretsch tonal characteristic that is slightly more open and satisfyingly ambient. There is no denying that Brooklyn drums possess the sound of classic Gretsch drums, but deliver their own sonic personality.

The 16-ply Gretsch Mahogany/Maple Snare Drum collection gives you the best of both worlds…the sound and feel of Mahogany, and the sound and feel of Maple. The assortment will cover any sound and musical preference you have.

The 6×13” and 5×14” are designed with a sharp 30 degree bearing edge, both sizes have a very cutting attack and powerful back beat with just the right amount dark undertone. The 6.5” and 8×14” carry a bit less attack thanks to the soft 30 degree bearing edge and they release a ton of darker low-end with a fatter back beat.

Each size is finished in a beautiful gloss lacquer and are completed with Tilco Snare Wires, 2.5mm Triple Flange Hoops, and our newly designed Full Range Throw off & Butt Plate.
