North American Maple Shells
All Performance Series™ shells are built with DW’s patented HVX™ technique, which features 100% Maple plies with grains oriented in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal patterns for low, punchy fundamentals.
Bearing Edge
HVX™ shells are precision-cut with 45-degree (toms) and 60-degree (bass and snare) edges. These edges provide tonality and sustain from your toms, and depth and punch from your bass and snare.
FinishPly
The revolutionary wrap finish bonds to the shell and performs like a ply, while providing beauty with enhanced durability.
Performance Series™ lugs
Performance Series™ lugs offer a quarter-sized version of the iconic turret design. All Performance Series™ hardware is available exclusively in Chrome.
True Pitch Tuning Rods
True-Pitch® tuning features 5mm threads rather than the standard 12/24. There’s a thread every 0.8mm on DW True-Pitch® rods or about 20% more threads, versus a standard thread every 1.05mm. The result is more exact tuning. Performance Series kits feature True-Pitch® TP30 steel tuning rods.
Counter Hoops
Performance Series are available exclusively with Chrome triple-flange steel hoops to give your drums great versatile sound. These hoops come in graduated weights (1.6mm for 8 & 10″ toms, 2.3mm for 12-18″ toms, and 3mm for snares).
DW STM System – Suspension Tom Mount
DW’s patented STM™ system allows shells maximum resonance while securing your toms in place. No washers or grommets contact the lug rod receivers, so choking is reduced, and tuning is as easy as ever.
Performance Series™ legs
Performance Series Tom Legs allow you to adjust the resonance of any DW floor tom by adjusting the knurled knob. Available in 21″ Chrome-plated steel.
