To meet the high demand for enhanced playability and performance, Roland has upgraded the V-Compact series with a SuperNATURAL-enhanced TD-11 sound engine. In addition to the incredibly expressive and natural sounds onboard, the newly installed backing songs and USB function provide an effective tool kit for practice, teaching, recording, live performance and more. Affordable and easy to use, this new electronic kit is perfect for a variety of applications and brings a more natural and realistic playing experience to drummers of any skill level and budget.
Whats the difference between the TD-11K, TD-11KV & TD-11KVSE?
The Roland TD-11K is the most affordable option and comes with durable rubber pads for the toms, but still includes the V-Drums range’s acclaimed SuperNATURAL technology. The TD-11KV is the next step, with uprated mesh toms and dedicated crash and ride V-Cymbals. From there, you could jump straight to the TD-25K with its high performance TD-25 sound module and VH-11 hi-hat. But alternatively, at a price between the TD-11KV and TD-25K, you might decide the new Roland TD-11KVSE offers you the perfect balance of price and features. As drummers usually have their favorite brand of drum hardware, V-Drums kits do not come with a kick pedal, hi-hat stand or stool.
What upgrades do you get with the TD-11KVSE?
The sound module and pads might be familiar, but pull up a stool at the new TD-11KVSE and you’ll notice a fistful of spec improvements over the existing TD-11KV. First off, instead of the CY-5 cymbal pad and FD-8 pedal, this latest kit includes the VH-11 hi-hat, whose full-motion response, quiet-operation floating design and dual-trigger accuracy mean it feels just like playing an acoustic hat (it also fits on a standard acoustic hi-hat stand).
Another key departure from existing TD-11 models is the MDS-9SC. It’s a larger stand that offers an additional arm for a third V-Cymbal, and that’s handy, because the TD-11KVSE also ships with the CY-12C: a crash cymbal with a natural swinging motion and dead-on triggering. Both in terms of layout and feel, these uprated features mean the new TD-11KVSE plays more like an acoustic kit than ever – at a price-point that doesn’t rule out working drummers.
Whether for home or live use, this Roland brain does everything you need. Sensitive, user-friendly and versatile, the tension adjustable mesh heads & chokeable cymbals are a nice upgrade from the TD-11K, making kit playing even quieter.

Advanced Practice Tools
Roland’s acclaimed Coach Mode is onboard the TD-11, including “Time Check,” “Quiet Count,” and “Warm Ups” — a full set of exercises for self-improvement. In addition, QUICK REC lets you easily record and play back your own performance. This is a convenient way to repeatedly record yourself practicing and evaluate your performance.
Compact and Practical Hi-Hat Combination
The CY-5 cymbal pad for hi-hat features a 10″ playing zone and natural swing movement. It also provides separate bow and edge triggering. With the FD-8 Hi-Hat Controller, drummers can get realistic hi-hat sounds with smooth transitions between open and closed positions.
Easy Set Up
Designed for the V-Compact series, the MDS-4V is the most space-efficient drum stand from Roland. In addition to its stylish and compact footprint, the MDS-4V features a metal centre-horizontal joint bar for improved stability and solidness during frequent set-ups and tear-downs. The lower weight-balance and black-tone provide stability and visual cleanliness.
Internal Songs and Song Player
The TD-11 is equipped with realistic and powerful onboard backing songs and loop phrases, which are perfect for practicing as well as for the pure enjoyment of playing along. With a USB flash drive connected to the module, you can play back audio files (WAV, MP3) directly from the USB flash drive. You can mix the balance of your drumming with the backing track, change the tempo of the song with the Speed Control, loop specific sections with A-B repeat, and take your practice sessions to a new level.
Mesh-Head V-Pads for Snare & Toms
The 8″ PDX-8 and 6.5″ PDX-6 mesh V-Pads feature Roland’s amazing dual-triggering technology, resulting in accurate and even sensing between the head and rim. The PDX-8 for snare offers an expanded 10″ rim for more comfortable and quiet rim-shots.

Derived from the flagship TD-30’s SuperNATURAL concept, the TD-11 provides a complete and natural drumming experience when played with V-Compact series pads. Thanks to Behaviour Modelling Technology*, the response becomes much more precise and faster and the ambience enhances the sounds more realistically, all of which were difficult to realise with the previous sound module. *Behaviour Modelling Technology Beyond the physical modelling of instruments, Roland goes a step further by modelling the instrument’s distinctive behaviour and how it responds to the performer, resulting in natural, expressive sounds that evolve organically in real-time.
By connecting the TD-11 to your computer with a single USB cable, you can transmit audio and MIDI data. It’s a simple, convenient method for interfacing with the DT-1 V-Drums Tutor, V-Drums Friend Jam, and/or your favourite DAW software.
V-Cymbals for Crash and Ride
With optimised weight-balance and sensitivity, the CY-12C for Crash provides a natural swinging motion and accurate triggering for consistent crash performance, including choke control. As a Ride cymbal, the CY-13R offers an enlarged bow area and a realistic playing feel, with accurate three-way triggering for edge, bow and bell.
Kick Pedal NOT included and are shown for photography purposes only.
