Not So Local Legends: Richard Brook

In this episode of Not So Local Legends, we got to sit down with drummer to 80s stars Richard Brook.

Originally from Scotland but now based in London, Richard is currently Musical Director for Jimmy Somerville, ‘Rewind’ international festival house band, the ‘Britpop classical orchestra’ ​TV projects including Gary Barlow’s “Fly” film soundtrack launch and was MD for Holly Johnson for 6 years.

Endorsed by major brands such as Zildjian, Roland, Vater, Remo, Hardcase and British Drum Co. Richard is also the touring and recording drummer with 80’s legends ABC featuring on the ‘Lexicon of Love II’  album. Other notable credits include tracks on Annie Lennox’s Grammy-nominated album – ‘Nostalgia’ and played on Tinchy Stryders’ no 1 single “Never Leave You’.

He also is head of drums at the London College of Creative Media for 15 years, where he developed the drum course and offers his skills via remote recording and remote teaching.
