Jiffy Griffiths is a drummer, musician and drum tutor based in South Wales. Known for his technical ability, musical versatility and energetic approach to playing, Jiffy started playing drums at the age of nine. His musical journey began in a youth orchestra, where he played snare drum, before moving into live performance and eventually playing gigs alongside his brother Miffy on bass guitar.
Jiffy is the drummer for Cardiff-based instrumental trio Kinky Wizzards and has built an extensive career as a session drummer, performing and recording with artists across a wide range of musical styles. His professional experience includes recording at renowned facilities such as Real World Studios and Rockfield Studios, as well as touring extensively throughout Europe. He has also worked with award-winning artists, continually developing his skills and versatility as a performer and session musician.
Alongside performing and recording, Jiffy is passionate about sharing his knowledge with other drummers. He has hosted drum clinics and performed at major events including the London Drum Show, working with drummers of all ages and abilities.
Jiffy has been part of the team at Drum Depotsince 2013, where he established a strong reputation for delivering lessons that are engaging, inspiring and, above all, enjoyable. He now continues his teaching from his brand-new facility, Vivo Collective Studios, combining tuition with his work as a musician, recording artist and songwriter.
As a teacher, Jiffy believes that learning to play drums should be fun, feel-driven and full of personality. His lessons focus on developing strong technique and musicality while encouraging students to enjoy the process, build confidence and discover their own identity as a drummer. Whether you’re picking up the sticks for the first time or looking to take your playing to the next level, Jiffy’s approach is relaxed, energetic and tailored to the individual.
At Vivo Collective Studios, students have access to a creative and professional learning environment where they can develop their technique, explore different styles and experience what it’s like to record and perform. Jiffy teaches a broad range of styles including Rock, Samba, Latin, Jazz and Funk, and works with students of all levels — from complete beginners building their foundations to experienced players preparing for drumming grades or refining their performance skills.
Lessons are individually tailored, combining expert guidance with a friendly and approachable teaching style. Students also have access to both acoustic and electronic drum kits, as well as opportunities to explore audio and video recording and gain valuable experience performing in a professional studio environment.
