The Mapex Comet Series is an outstanding first drum kit, designed to give new players everything they need to start playing with confidence from day one. Comet is a genuinely complete starter package, including the drums, hardware, cymbals, drum throne and even a pair of drumsticks, helping to remove the uncertainty and additional purchases that can often come with buying a first acoustic drum kit.
Built with the quality, reliability and attention to detail expected from Mapex, Comet offers a solid playing feel and a great drum sound, helped by Mapex SONIClear™ bearing edges. The result is a complete setup that can support a drummer through those crucial early stages of learning. Mapex Comet represents an easy-to-understand, easy-to-set-up solution for parents, beginners and music students looking for a trusted first kit with everything required to get started.
Junior Configuration
For the very youngest players, the Mapex Comet Junior setup offers a much more comfortable and accessible introduction to acoustic drumming.
Thanks to its more compact drum sizes, shorter-height snare drum stand and shorter drum throne, the Junior kit is designed to make everything easier to reach and position for smaller players. This creates a less intimidating setup and helps young drummers develop good technique and confidence from the very beginning.
Rather than asking a child to adapt to an oversized adult drum kit, the Comet Junior allows the drums, pedals and cymbals to sit naturally around the player at a lower height, creating a more comfortable, enjoyable and rewarding playing experience.
Combined with the same trusted Mapex quality and complete starter-package approach, the Comet Junior is an excellent choice for parents and teachers looking to give younger children the strongest possible start in drumming.
Why Choose Mapex Comet?
One of the biggest advantages of choosing the Mapex Comet as a first drum kit is the reassurance that it comes from a genuine, established drum manufacturer with decades of experience building instruments for drummers at every level.
Unlike many low-cost starter kits produced simply to meet a price point, Comet benefits from Mapex’s proven drum design, quality control, hardware expertise and understanding of what makes a drum kit enjoyable and reliable to play. That means better consistency, more dependable components and a kit that feels like a genuine musical instrument rather than a disposable first purchase.
For new players and parents in particular, that added reassurance makes Comet a much more confidence-inspiring investment at the very beginning of a drummer’s musical journey.
