The SECW washer features a hybrid construction consisting of a soft foam rubber outer layer (black section) and a firmer silicone rubber core (blue section). This unique combination maximizes the cymbal’s natural resonance, allowing it to vibrate more freely and project its full tonal character. For even greater sustain, simply remove the outer foam rubber can be removed, and mount the cymbal using only the inner silicone core. This flexible design lets drummers easily customize their preferred response for any cymbal.
Frequency analysis data showed clear improvement from recordings made using a conventional felt washer, as found on previous cymbal stand series, and the SECW washer employed on the CS8 and CS7 cymbal stands. Compared with a traditional felt washer, the SEC W washer (foam rubber + silicone core) delivers increased low -frequency output and enhanced sustain. When the cymbal is mounted using only the silicone core, both volume and sustain are further improved across the entire frequency spectrum. With the SECW washer drummers can now tailor the cymbal response to suit different cymbal characteristics, musical styles, performance environments, and personal preferences.
